 Welcome to Middlesex Psychiatry

Hello, If you’re visiting this website, chances are that you are looking to feel better, restart, or continue psychiatric care. Life is full of challenges, and when these become overwhelming we often question what options are available to improve how we are living and functioning. Oftentimes, a depressed, anxious, or unstable mood presents an obstacle to living your best life. Other times, the challenge is a struggle with disorganization and difficulty focusing that is severe enough to keep someone from achieving their goals and aspirations. At Middlesex Psychiatry we strive to help you feel better so you can live and function better. As a psychopharmacology practice, we focus on medication options. We also utilize lifestyle and sleep recommendations and referral to psychotherapy, as appropriate, into your plan to feel better.  Our collaborative treatment style combines your symptoms and goals with your prescriber’s knowledge to offer personalized recommendations for medication and ongoing treatment. Most individuals struggling with mood disorders benefit from a combination of medication and psychotherapy. While we incorporate therapeutic techniques into appointments, visits with us do not replace ongoing psychotherapy with a therapist; we do provide referrals to excellent local psychotherapists with whom we work closely. In order to provide highest quality of care to our patients, we currently only accept private pay and Blue Cross Blue Shield patients.

Assessment

Our psychiatric assessment starts by listening to the concerns that brought you to our office. Throughout the assessment we will listen for themes and clusters of symptoms to develop a diagnosis.

Diagnosis

Once we discuss the diagnosis and factors contributing to how you are feeling we will discuss the use of pharmacological interventions.

Treatment Plan

We offer psychopharmacological medication management for a variety of psychiatric conditions in a caring, private, and non-judgemental atmosphere.

Pharmacogenomic Testing

A non-invasive genetic testing that looks at how your genetic makeup affects your response to psychiatric medications

Our Approach

Our approach is described as warm, open-minded, and caring. We collaborate with others involved in your treatment, like your therapist and primary care provider, as needed to provide the most comprehensive, safe, and effective treatment possible. We do not speak with anyone about your care or condition without your permission.

Is this the Right Practice for You?

We are a small private psychiatry practice committed to providing excellent medication management.  We recognize that the many individuals with mood disorders also struggle with substance use issues. Given our small practice size, we are not currently treating those with recent or active substance use issues, as these issues are better served in a practice with enhanced resources for managing this condition. We are currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Insurance. If you do not have BSBC, self-pay is an option.
